Two industrial parks are located near
Demopolis as is a municipal airport with a lighted 5,000 foot
paved runway.

The first inland dock in a projected
string of 12 Alabama State Docks was built in Demopolis in
1965. It is the most active of the seven completed
facilities in the state. |
TRANSPORTATION
Demopolis is located
in the Northern-most part of Marengo County. Serving as the
gateway to the Tennessee-Tombigbee Waterway, commercial river
transportation is readily available. Norfolk Southern and
Burlington Northern Railways service the Demopolis area providing
local rail transpor-
tation. The Demopolis Municipal Airport offers a 5,000 foot
lighted runway to accommodate private and corporate air
travel. Commercial air transportation is located within 60
miles of the Demopolis area.

The Airport Industrial Park is located
on Highway 80 West and contains approximately 100 acres of
undeveloped property.

The South Industrial Park is located
off Marengo County Highway 21 (2 miles south of U.S. Hwy.
80). It is a fully developed site with paved roads, city
water, and sewer system.
Current tenants
include: Jennings Service Company, Arrow Management
Services, Gaddy Electric & Plumbing Services, Foster Farms,
Waste Management, and J&M Roofing and Metal. |
