Welcome to Demopolis! It's our pleasure to introduce you to a community that takes pride in its traditions and history, but also looks excitedly toward its developing and thriving future. The very name Demopolis is more than that, it is a town with a fresh new outlook and a desire to work together to create a wonderful place of economic and industrial growth, family fun and tourism! This community has a vision of positive economic growth that blends with the already existing diverse industrial base.

As you experience our city, one thing you will notice is the friendly, caring attitude of the people who will welcome you. They are hard working people who will go the extra mile to get the job done. They are people who treasure the past, but also welcome the challenges of the future - and these people are one of Demopolis' greatest assets.

Another of the many assets to living, working, or playing in Demopolis is the quality of life. Through the efforts of the many organizations working for the betterment of Demopolis, we are able to offer a variety of events and attractions that are sure to fit all interests. From fine-arts events to holiday festivals and from historical attractions to modern day concerts that cover all genres of music; you're sure to find something fun to do in Demopolis.

Finally, Demopolis is often referred to as the 'Jewel of the Black Belt' because it has managed to retain its 'small town charm' while acting with 'big city ideas'. We offer exceptional services in the areas of education, healthcare, business, and recreation. Some of those services include a consistently high-ranked city school system that has the support of the Demopolis City School Foundation who awards over $50,000 in grants each year to teachers and schools; a regional healthcare system that offers a plethora of outpatient services as well as a 99-bed facility; support for new and existing business through the Chamber of Commerce, Alabama Entrepreneurial Research Network and Industrial Development Board, to name a few; and a number of parks throughout the city including a 300-acre Sportsplex dedicated to all sports enthusiasts.
